is a partner in the law firm Rosen Feig & Golland LLP. Michael has extensive entertainment transactional experience. Michael's clients include actors, writers, individual producers, directors, production companies, film financiers, authors, composers, song writers, talent agencies, music publishers, and web/alternative media content providers.
Michael has been actively involved in all facets of entertainment industry transactions including negotiating above and below-the-line agreements (both television and feature film); development and production legal services; structuring financing and co-production agreements; negotiating television and feature film licensing and distribution agreements; negotiating book publishing agreements; negotiating personal appearance agreements; negotiating music licensing, publishing and distribution agreements; negotiating web content agreements; assisting clients in packaging television and film projects; and providing counsel to clients in entertainment asset protection (including trademark protection) and acquisition.
As an added service, Michael counsels the firm’s clients in the formation and structuring of their business enterprise as well as many operational issues related to such including commercial lease transactions, human resource matters, assets acquisition and joint ventures.
He has been practicing law in California since 1994. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Michael owned and operated his own law firm. Michael received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Finance) from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1989 and his Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School in Los Angeles, California in 1994. Michael is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California as well as the United States District Courts for the Central and Northern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
