ARIK BETESH

ARIK BETESH, is an associate at the law firm of Rosen Feig Golland & Lunn LLP and has been a part of the firm since 2006.  He handles a broad range of entertainment and media transactions and has significant experience in production and distribution matters as well as representing actors, directors, writers and producers, among others.

His practice includes: work in all phases of development and production, including the option and acquisition of rights (life story rights, original screenplays, foreign films, sequel rights, novels, articles); the engagement of writing, directing, acting, consulting and producing services; television option and series deals; distribution agreements; licensing arrangements; guild and union matters; and co-development and co-production ventures.

Prior to joining Rosen Feig Golland & Lunn LLP, Arik was a law clerk in the business and legal affairs department at Lionsgate for two years and worked directly for the General Counsel, Wayne Levin. In this capacity, Arik drafted agreements for the acquisition of films and film libraries, drafted numerous types of production agreements, drafted music licensing agreements and analyzed chain of title documents.  He also maintained, updated and submitted a biweekly legal report to the general counsel and executive board of the company which summarized the material terms of each legal agreement contemplated by all divisions of the company. Arik’s unique experience was recognized at Lionsgate when he was subsequently asked to temporarily assume the role of the vice president of the contract administration department for two months when the vice president took a leave of absence.   

Arik earned his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law, where he was one of the editors of the Journal of International Media and Entertainment Law.  He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class with a major in the field of Political Science and an emphasis on International Relations.  Arik is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
